Amazing! It has been almost exactly one year since I started this blog. As you can tell by my lack of posting, I've been a little preoccupied!
What a year it has been! We have gone from laying to sitting to crawling and then standing. Little Nicholas isn't so little anymore, and is rarely ever sitting still. He took his first step on his first birthday and hasn't stopped since. Thank heavens we live in a smaller space, or else I might never find him! Speaking of finding things... I looked high and low for matches to two pairs of my favorite summer sandals, to no avail. I had a feeling that Nicho had hidden them on me, so I was looking everywhere that his little arms could reach. Guess where I found them??!!! Tucked away nicely in my washing machine, which really shouldn't surprise me... He loves the washing machine! As soon as it starts he comes running so that he can look inside and turn the dials.
Nicholas has been non-stop teething for 8 months. He has a whole mouth full of teeth, including 4 molars. Since his first birthday (which was on June 19th) he has grown 2 inches, and I am hoping that all of this growing and teething will subside for a bit. It breaks my heart when my little man is in so much pain and there is not a whole lot that can be done for him. Don't get me wrong, I want my boy to be big and healthy, but maybe spacing the growth out a bit would make it a little easier on all of us!!
Chris and I often find ourselves sitting and laughing at the things Nicholas does. Of course, we are usually only able to do this after he has gone to bed, because there is NO WAY he will let us sit for even a short period of time if he is awake. Last night, as I was sorting and organizing my photos (again, only something that I can do when Nicholas is asleep), I came across two videos of Nicho when he was about 6 weeks old. Chris and I both stared and laughed at the little noises he was making and at how he was trying to get his hands in his mouth and how small he was. It's funny how one tends to forget how precious those moments really are.
We have had a wonderful year with our little man, it's hard to recall what life was like before him. Hopefully, we will be lucky enough to extend our family, but for right now, we are loving almost every minute of our clan of three ;)
